"Throughout this letter I would like to give thanks to Ms. Tolu and all of the staff for permitting us to be a part of this school.

My son Kevin is leaving the school and today I would like to say that I am grateful for the space that was made for my son. I feel so proud because with patience and commitment my son has academically grown."

Patricia and Kevin Sanchez, Student's Parents

Resources:

Our staff assists families with locating and accessing social services such as Medicaid, food stamps, and housing and mental health services. In addition, Social Service Staff assist and engage parents in identifying and pursuing educational and career opportunities (view table on the right).

Parent Involvement: The cornerstone of Head Start
We welcome volunteers in all aspects of the program! Examples of parent participation include assisting in the decision-making process of the program, participating on parent committees and in workshops, organizing fundraisers, and volunteering in the classroom and on trips.

Parent committees:
There are three levels of parent committees (1) Class Committee, (2) Parent Committee and (3) Delegate Agency Policy Committee with sub-committees in personnel, by-law, and grievance. These committees provide substantial opportunities for parents to acquire leadership skills and influence program operations by participating in policymaking, budgeting, personnel matters, curriculum development and menu planning.
