Parent Involvement: The cornerstone of Head Start
We welcome volunteers in all aspects of the program! Examples of parent participation include assisting in the decision-making process of the program, participating on parent committees and in workshops, organizing fundraisers, and volunteering in the classroom and on trips.

Parent committees:
There are three levels of parent committees (1) Class Committee, (2) Parent Committee and (3) Delegate Agency Policy Committee with sub-committees in personnel, by-law, and grievance. These committees provide substantial opportunities for parents to acquire leadership skills and influence program operations by participating in policymaking, budgeting, personnel matters, curriculum development and menu planning.

"Of all the trips to Chuckee Cheese, the Zoo, or Toys'R'Us, none have been as rewarding as the days I spent reading a book in the classroom. It was so appreciated by both my child as well as 14 other children. My daughter boasted about it for days. Both she and I felt so proud and it didn't even cost a dime." Jackie's mom, Linda Peterson
